We pickup where book 1 left off and what the hell is happening? As Layla thinks they were able to stop evil from coming topside, she also get the chance to have her dreams come true. Zayne. He loves her. Like really loves her. But she is afraid that she will suck his pure soul out of his body if they kiss. That happens to be one of her curses. When Zayne decides to show Layla that she is good; she will not take his soul; she gets her first true love kiss. Dream do come true or do they?
Roth. While Layla is dealing with the thought that he is lost in the bowels of hell, he appears outside the Wardens' compound, looking just as darkly sexy as ever. How can that be? He sacrificed himself in Zayne's place. But there he is. Layla is beside herself. He is back. Now what will she do with the 2 guys that she has feelings for? Roth does not give her a chance. He breaks her heart over again with his cruel words. After all he is the Prince of Hell. They are liars right?
As Zayne and Layla try to make a go at being a normal couple, strange things continue to happen around her. Of course Abbott, who is like a father figure to her, believes that it is Layla that is wrecking havoc on the Wardens and the school. But is she? Can she be the one that is killing and causing destruction?
Layla would do anything to protect her family and friends, but what if she is the True evil that is doing all these bad things? She must dig deep and listen to herself. Can the Demon side of her be stronger than the Warden side? Will she be able to find the real monster or is that her?
Book 2 is just another journey in learning how good and evil can be seen. It is not always black and white. And holy moly who will Layne pick? Zayne whom she has loved forever or Roth who calls to her deep inside? I am on to book 3.
