Undeniable by Author Jessika Klide reviewed by Stacy Eastwood

4 stars
I would like to start out stating that I almost gave this book a three, not for content but because I am not a big fan of cliffhanger books.  However, if you go into this knowing it is a serial novel, you will be well pleased.  Klide does a wonderful job of developing the characters personalities and gives glimpses of the past so you can understand why they act the way they do.  At the start, I couldn't understand why the author put some of the scenarios into the book; but as I read further I realized they are necessary for character development.  The scenes are descriptive enough to allow the reader to visualize the places the characters visit.  Lastly, this book is hot!  The main character Aurie Moore is a true Alpha male whose sexuality leaps off the pages and smacks you in your face.  The gentlemen's club scenes at Been Jammin are very well written and you can feel the sexual tension radiating off the pages.  Overall, this is a great start to a promising serial series.

Calendar Girl Volume 1 by Author Audrey Carlan

4 stars

After devouring the Lotus House Series by Author Audrey Carlan, I had to dive right into the Calendar Girl series. Oh my word, funny, sassy, sexy and made me smile. I have found a new author that I love to read!!!

Mia is having no choice but to keep her family safe and pay off a major debt that her father ran up with the local bad bookie.....Mia goes to work for her aunt as an Escort. This is a 100 grand a month paying job. She needs the money. Of course, having to be a companion for these absolutely sexy men is not a hardship. And if Mia wants to have sex with them, she can. There is no reason she should not enjoy herself right?

Each month Mia goes to stay with another guy. Each has a different story and required different things from Mia. But she is just the girl for any job that is thrown at her.

The men that she has meet in the first 3 months all were able to show how to love and be loved. I think the Frenchie may have been my favorite man of the month so far.

But already started the next 3 months. So we will see.

Fear Me, Fear Me Not-Book 1 in Gavert City by Author Elodie Nowodazkij

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

4.5 stars

Let me start by saying that I loved this book. I liked the fact that it has so much suspense mixed with a romance. The characters were all likable. I loved the story was set in a little town by a lake. The romance story was interesting and played out the way I wanted. I can not wait to read more from this author!!!

Erin Holtz seems to have it all but appears can be deceiving. She is pretty. She is a cheerleader. But her home life has changed. Her mom is depressed and rarely leaves her bedroom. Then there is her dad; high school teacher; who is the prime suspect in the string of murders in town. And they seem to be escalating lately. All Erin wants to do is get a scholarship to leave town and attend college. But then she would have to leave behind her little brother, whom she has been taking care of since their mom is not herself and their dad has changed.

Dimitri Kuklev had it all. Until one night of drinking and partying takes it all away. Or so he thinks. He still have his life to live. Plus his family has never left his side. Add in that his little sister's best friend, Erin, seems to be showing more interest in him. But should he allow himself to give into what he truly wants? Will it ruin the friendship that he has with Erin?

When more girls go missing and bodies start turning it, things start to get weird. Dimitri is being looked at a suspect now that a couple of girls that are dead had dated him. Then when there are messages from one of the victims and Dimitri, things starts to turn for the worse. Now not only is Dimitri, the guy that Erin has been secretly in love with for years and her father are both suspects.

Can the real killer be found before more girls disappear? Will Dimitri and Erin be able to find true love in this dangers game? Or could Erin be the next victim???

Same Page-Book 1 in Bookish Friends to Lovers by Author GL Tomas

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley for an honest review.

1 star

After seeing the cover and reading the premise, I knew I was going to enjoy this short read. I was wrong. I did not like the characters. I did not like the story. It was boring at times and seems to be drawn out. And the issues in the book were just a little much to see into. I mean who has a long distance relationship where they only see each other a couple of times a year? I know people in the military do this but thats not something that I want to read about.

Then there is the issue of Timothy sort of cheating on said long distance girlfriend. Was it really cheating or not? I know that cheating can be a taboo issue for some readers but not with me. If the story is written well and you see all sides of the story then go with it.

I hated to not like this book but just was not my cup of tea. I know there are lots of reviewing enjoying it. I guess to each their own. I would try to read another book by the author.

Single Player book 3 in the Slice of Pi Series by Author Elia Winters

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

4 stars

This is book 3 in the Slice of Pi Series. You do not need to have read the other 2 to be able to keep up with the characters in book 3. Although I plan to go back; read the first 2. I enjoyed the authors way of writing; she was able to create a story that will have you turning the pages to see how it will end for Silas and Matthew. Yes this is a MM romance but written in such a way that you feel as thought it is two people learning how to navigator a new relationship.

Silas Benson does not do much but work. He is a biomedical engineer that has a work ethic that will make most cringe. There is no time for fun, relaxing or non sense. Silas was raised to believe that if you were not doing your best then you were lacking. So Silas puts 110% into working; even on the weekends.

Matthew Abrams has a great job; gaming programmer; that he enjoys. He has a second job bartending; giving him a chance to meet new people. He knows how to just relax and enjoy life. He has never really wanted more out of life but sometimes when you are in a position too long; you do desire for more.

A chance encounter at Matthew's second allows him to meet Silas. At first, the attraction between the two is instant but Silas does not do things like this. After a couple of drinks, Silas loosens up and takes a chance on a beautiful stranger. When things between Matthew and Silas head up at the bar, there is only one thing that can happen, they will need to explore more of each other or will Silas keep running and not really living?

When Silas is put on leave from work; he turns to Matthew. Silas has no idea how to do nothing with his time. Matthew will show him the way but as things heat up between the two; words will fly that will cause them both to rethink how they feel about each other and themselves.

Will Silas and Matthew be able to work out their differences to see that they are a match for each other? Or will they allow words in the heat of the moment end their game before it has truly started?

Brave by Author Zoe Dawson

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

2 stars

This book just was not my cup of tea. I think the premise of the story makes it seems as though it would be a great read. But it just didnt do it for me. I had a hard time finding the two characters falling into love so quickly after the past that each of them has.

Alissa is that girl that does what her parents say but they seem to over look her. So when her best friend, Charlie, ask her to do something for him. she will do it. No matter what. Dakota has been keeping to himself since the accident that changed his life forever. He has been battling his own demons in his own way. Being in the cabin away from everyone is exactly how he likes it until he spots this angel standing on the edge of the mountain. He knows he has to stop her from jumping.

Alissa and Dakota will have to learn to share their pain and past to move forward.

This is a 3 part series, which each part was released a week apart. It was a nice start to an MC series. I liked the author's way of writing and the characters. Although I felt that it could have all been written in 1 book.

But he needs her and in a way she needs him. She does have her schooling to keep her occupied plus there is Jack Hart. After meeting him in class, he has consumed her thoughts.

Love Locked by Author Tess Highcroft

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

3.5 Locks

This was a fun quirky read. I was able to read it all in one morning. I enjoyed the authors way of writing; the characters were funny and likeable; and the story was just sweet. The story will show you that no matter what, when your heart locks with its other half, there is no turning back.

I saw several reviews about not liking the fact that there was cheating. Although the book does touch on that subject, I felt that it was done in a tasteful way and work with the story.

What happens when you are waiting for the one? A chance encounter will change things for Jocelyn. She has had her fair share of boyfriends but none have be able to give her those feelings. But one look at Lucas and all of that changes. Too bad he is taken.

Lucas has a girlfriend. But there is something more to Jocelyn that he can explain. When his thoughts are all about her, he knows what he must do. And by his time until he can be with Jocelyn. Because all good things come to those who wait.

I look forward to reading more by author Tess Highcroft.

The Yarn Spinner: A Crossroads Cafe' Short Story-The MacBrides Book 3 by Author Deborah Smith

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

3.75 Stars

This was my first book by author Deborah Smith and what a sweet, touching short story of what people can over come and learn to live again. And not all family needs to be blood related to make you feel like you belong.

We get to meet the ladies of Crossroads Cove. They are all so quirky and you can not help but laugh at them. But they have this ability to draw you in close too.

I plan to go back to book 1 and see where it all started. Look forward to reading more of Deborah Smith.

Visibly Broken by Authors Chelsea Camaron & MJ Fields

A copy of the book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review

3.75 stars

If you have not meet Jason "Cobra" Stanley, what are you waiting for. He has been fighting everyday since he was a kid. His personal life has been anything but easy. But as a teenager, he learned how to deal with the anger and home life by fighting in the gym. Then in the under ground fighting rings. Now as an adult, he fights hard and loves harder. His current relationship is made for the ring. They are constantly fighting with each other, to the point, that he does hit her. I know that can turn a reader from wanting to read a book. Jason continues to fight his way through life until he meets Lorraine Bosch. She is everything that he wants and needs. Only she is too good for him.

Lorraine Bosch is a fighter too. She knows life is tough and being an ER nurse shows exactly how cruel life can be. But one look at this broken man, Jason, she knows she would do anything to be with him; even it she ends up broken herself. Jason sees her as his guardian angel. He wants to do better; be better; he wants to be her everything.

As they navigate through their relationship, love and light will come out on top. There is so much to this story from background of each Jason and Lo; to them finding and fighting for each other; to ending the cycle of violence that Jason has know all his life.

This is not a dark read but does have some touchy subject matter but over all, a sweet story of love and forgiveness.

Deep Under-Book 4 in the Tall, Dark & Deadly Series by Author Lisa Renee Jones

This book  was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

4 stars

What can I say but Lisa Renee Jones is one of those authors that you just know is going to draw you into the story from the first word until the last. Then leave you wanting more. Deep Under is no different. And she has the ability to tie into other series that will have you 1 clicking those when you finish one series.

Myla has been a major drug lord's woman for over a year. She has done everything she can to protect her sister and stay alive. She knows the only way to get away is to continue being the person that Michael Alvarez wants her to be. And that is his. But she is smart. She plays along until the time is right. She just needs to keep her cool until she is ready to try to get away.

Kyle has been hired to be Myla's personal bodyguard. He is everything you would want in a man to protect you. But there is something that calls to Myla; she has not felt this way since she has been with Michael. Kyle seems to defy Michael's right hand man, Juan, while keeping Myla safe. But who is he really? And is he part of Michael's plan to see if Myla is loyal to him?

As the current between Myla and Kyle heat up in the hotel suite, they can only do so much to deny the lust and want that they have for each other. Kyle has been secretly searching for her since she has been gone. So he feels as thought he knows who she is. But he must earn her trust. As their relationship continues to grow, so does the dread that something major is going to happen to them. They can feel it.

When Michael puts events into motion have Myla meet him away from everyone, there maybe the only chance that Myla has to finally be rid of Michael forever. Will she be strong enough to take it? Or will she be lost in the world of sex and drugs with Michael?

What a great story to go along with the other Tall, Dark & Deadly series with the other Walker Security guys. I have loved all of them. I can not wait for the next book by Lisa Renee Jones.

In Ruins-Book 1 in Something More Series by Author Danielle Pearl

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

I also won this book from a Goodreads Giveaway.

4 stars

This was my first book by Author Danielle Pearl and wont be the last. I enjoy her way of writing and telling of the story. I could connect with the characters and the story followed so easily that I was at the end of the book before I knew it.

In Ruins was such a touching story one filled with love, tragedy, secrets and forgiveness. It will have you laughing and then crying at the hurt that Carleigh and Tucker have been through, each in their own way but linked.

Carleigh can not wait for college. She will finally be free. Freedom is all she has dreamed about. But with that freedom comes a price. She will have to deal with the loss of the one person that she has loved for as long as she can remember, Tucker. He was once hers. Then he wasn't. But hey college is big, so they can just avoid each other and move on with their lives alone. Carleigh has to be strong and try to get over Tucker. But sometimes getting over the best thing in your life is harder than breathing.

Tucker Green knows loss. He lived with the loss of his father when he was younger. Now he has to deal with the loss of his love, Carleigh. Not only will he have to deal with seeing her everyday at college but will have to remember that she is a liar. She is not who she says she is. But sometimes your heart and body want something completely different than your mind. They were once friends before lovers so maybe they can just be friends.

As much as Carl and Tuck try to avoid each other at college, they are thrown together more and more. There is only one thing to do, try to be civil. Or maybe ignore each other and become stranger. But when your body knows someone like Carl and Tuck, it is hard to forget. Even with all the pain they have caused each other.

When it comes down to it, Carleigh and Tucker at meant for each other, they just need to learn to forgive and love unconditionally. Sometimes, the past has away of revealing the truth; shedding light on what one would think was the truth but was just a shadow of it. Can Carleigh and Tucker learn to let go? Learn to love each other again in their minds; like their hearts and body have been doing? Or will the past be even to end what small shred of love between them forever?

I think this story will stick with me for days to come even months. It was such a touching story of letting go of the one true love because you feel as thought you dont deserve to be happy. I look forward to reading more books by Author Danielle Pearl.

Cowboy in My Pocket by Author Kate Douglas

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

4 stars

This was a really sweet cute book to read. The story was funny although it made me think of the old romance pocket books that I would steal from my mom when I was younger. The characters were all quirky and just as I would imagine Montanans to be or perhaps Cowboys in general. And lets talk about cowboys, Tag Martin......I would love to fall into his arms in whatever scheme he wanted.

Michelle Garrison is a published romance author who has been in a slump late. Her editor as been pushing for a western romance. Michelle thinks she has the perfect book until her authors rejects stating that she needs to know exactly what it is to be a cowboy before she can write about it. So off to a dude ranch Michelle sent. Only a storm intercepts Michelle, causing her to forget who she is. All she knows is, she is a cowgirl and belongs with Tag Martin.

Tag Martin is the perfect cowboy well to a point. He does not believe in love. He grew up in a loveless family, having watched not only his parents but his grandparents marry and not love each other. He knows all he needs is his ranch, his horses and the cows. But when he realizes that his grandmother is not going to deed the ranch, that he has spend his entire life working at, over to him if he is not married by 40, he panics. He allows his right hand man, Coop, come up a plan of sorts; find a pretend bride and get married.

As the scheme that Tag and Coop comes together, Tag can not believe his luck. The first bride has already run off with a rodeo clown. So when the second bride shows up, Tag just wants to get this over with. Then he can get back to his ranch and living his life. But when Grandma Lenore decides she will come to the wedding and visit for awhile, all bets are off.

See Coop has been in love with Lenora for more than sixty years. And Lenora has been unavailable until now. Even though they are in the late seventies, they are not going to waste anymore time if Lenora has her way. Of course Coop has to setup to the plate to make the first move.

Michelle or Lee as she has no memory of before, marries Tag. And the attraction between the two of them after just 1 kiss, is enough to make the both of them sizzle. So they must continue the charade of being married so that Lenora does not catch on. Also Lee tells Tag about her memory loss and the bit and pieces that are coming back to her. But the more time they spend together, it seems the less Tag cares about her past. He thinks he wants her.

Or does he? He is still having a hard time understanding the feelings that he has for a lady he just meet. And the things he makes his body feel. Lee is certain that she loves this man. But what if there is someone from the past? She must try to remember who she is. Or could her past come knocking on the ranch door and throw them all for a loop?

Lessons in Gravity by Author Megan Westfield

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

4 stars

This was a sweet read for me. I liked the concept of the book. How April and Josh were both able to overcome their fears and find the meaning of love while doing so. It had me in tears a couple of places, laughter in others and the desire to learn how to rock climb like a rockstar.

April Stephens knows what it feels like to have watched someone she looked up too and loved die doing what he loved. But she needs to continue living. She wants to live her dream of becoming a documentary filmmaker. So when she gets the internship filming, she jumps to the chance. So what if it means living in a tent for a few months. The experience and chance to be a part of something so great is just what she needs.

Josh is the rockclimber. He is known by all that are into rockclimbing. He is the one to watch and learn how to be amazing on the rocks. So he has to allow this filmcrew follow and document his climbs. No big deal. Until he lays his eyes on the beauty that is April. She does something to him inside that he thought had died long ago. He is not very friendly. He likes to keep to himself. But the is something about April that wants him to allow her to get close. But at what cost?

April tries to do her job. Josh is not the easiest to interview. His one word answers and not caring attitude will not do on camera. She needs him to play the part so that she can graduate and land a good job. April continues to try to do her best, finally she sees a side of Josh that no one else is permitted to see. He is just beautiful. He is so much more than the guy that climbs a rock and lives in his truck.

As the attraction between April and Josh heats up, they learn that sometimes you have to let go of the past to see the future even if it means jumping and not knowing where you will land. They both must learn to trust the other with their secrets. But once it is all said, will April be able to love Josh unconditional, knowing that he risk his live everyday? Can Josh allow someone into his heart knowing that everyone he has loved has turned their back on him? Can love find its way between these two's heart or will it end up lost in the rocks?

Adam of the Archers Book 1 by Author Lena Bourne

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

3 stars

This is book in the Archer Series. I would say that I liked the story. It was intense at times. Then the story would have a twist that did not really play out and left so many unanswered questions. Maybe the author will answer them in the other books in the series.

Adam is home but not by choice. He has no where else to go. He left the military and is not wanted back in his home town for something that happened years ago. But he needs to made rights some wrongs that he left. His family life was anything but easy and even as a young man, there are still issues that he can not control.

Taylor home from a holiday with her boyfriend receives a text message not for her. Then calling Henry about only confirms, hearing a female voice on the other end, only confirms Taylor's worries. But Henry refuses to admit that there is anyone but her. Henry does not tell her that he loves her but seems to always put her in her place. He is more controlling of the relationship.

So whats a girl to do? Share a kiss with a stranger. That is exactly what Taylor does. And that one kiss shows her so much more than she could ever dream of. How can there is by so much passion and want in just a simple kiss? Taylor begins to think that what she has with Henry is not what she wants to grow old with. But this guy is a stranger. How will she ever find him?

Fate seems to push Adam and Taylor together. They take that leap. Spending a week holed up in a cabin away from the outside world. But when Adam's past coming knocking, he must leave to handle family matters. Then Taylor's past comes knocking too. Can anything else happen to cause these two lovers want to run from each other? But the pull that they seems to have toward each other will have to be enough to fight off the bad that seems to be pushing its way into their world.

I look forward to reading more in the Archer series.

Boots and Bedlam-Book 3 in the Sweeney Sisters Series by Author Ashley Farley

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

2.5 stars

This was a cute short read about Sam Sweeney, her family and her upcoming marriage to Eli. There was just so much going on that it was hard for me to connect with the story. It seemed that I was wondering what was happening with this person when the story would move on to the next.

And everything that could go wrong with planning a holiday wedding does. But end the end all ends well with a beautiful white wedding. I did like Sam's spunky personality. She seems to be the backbone of the family and the workings in the story.

Maybe I would suggest starting with book 1 in the series as this is book 3. You maybe able to connect more with the characters having started from the beginning. Oh and book 3 does leave you with a "What moment" at the end leading into what I am sure will be book 4.

Taking Charge by Author Ruth Cardello

3 stars

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

This is book 4 in the Lone Star Burn series but can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the writing and story told by Ruth Cardello. I do think I will have to read more books by her.

We meet Lucy Albright. She left her family's Texas ranch for life in the city. She always knew she belonged somewhere away from the ranch. But as life would have it, she finds herself back at home without her parents, having to keep the ranch going as a promise to her mom.

Lucy's brother has been at the ranch but left it in such disarray that Lucy is determined to make it work. She accepts a loan from the neighbor where the loan turns into a marriage proposal that Lucy accepts. But she knows she must end things before the "I Dos" as she does not love him. But when she ends things, he plans to make he pay for making him look like a fool.

Lucy having learned the hardway to not allow any man help. They all seems to have their own agenda. She knows that she must start making some fast cash to make ends meet, so why not launch her own web based sex toy business? She can do this. She can do this alone. No man needed or so she thinks.

David Harmon is just a cowboy who's values are solid as the dirt he walks on. He knows that he would do anything to make sure Lucy and her ranch are ok. Even if he has to sit back and not touch her. He is more of a man than most. He has been in love with her since the first time he saw her. When there seems to be trouble brewing at Lucy's, David drops everything to go and help.

But Lucy does not see it like that. She seems David as just another man trying to control her. As their attraction and relationship seems to heat up, Lucy starts to feel like maybe David is being truthful, only wanting the best for her.

As threats are made toward Lucy and her ranch, David and Lucy will stop at nothing to find who it is. They must learn to work as team to even the score. And that means Lucy will have to allow David into her personal space and share with him, her business that she has going. Things could get interesting.

End in the end, all is well on the ranch and Lucy finally finds a place to truly call home.

Letters from Jayson by Author Amy Hale

Book provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

3 stars

This was a cute read for me. I enjoyed the story line. The characters were quirky and story followed quickly. I thought the notes that Jayson and Lindsay were funny and sweet.

Lindsay has been in a rut at her job. She is a writer yet her employer refuses to give her anything but fluff reporting even though she has spoken up with new ideas for the company. While not receiving credit for them. She has been over looked one too many times. She has had enough of the males getting all the good jobs. As she storms into her bosses office to explain this, she is given the chance of a lifetime to get an exclusive interview with author Jackson King. But she has to find the recluse man.

Jayson is just trying to get a deadline meet when he realizes that he is not alone in the beach house that should have been all his. What in the hell is he going to do with a woman here? Ask her to leave that is what. But when the beautiful lady explains that she is best friend's with his brother's fiance, she calls him Jay, he does nothing to tell her any different. Why not?

As the two of them continue to set ground rules on what can and can not happen in the house, Lindsay finds that she enjoys her banner with Jayson. Jayson as well seems to get distracted from his deadline with his thoughts consuming him of Lindsay. But Lindsay is here to work as is Jayson.

When Lindsay finds her in into meeting Jackson King, she is determined to get the interview and show her boss that she can do any job he sets her out to do. But when Jackson seems to keep evading a meeting, he is rather fond of his privacy, Lindsay starts to lose hope. She will have to go back to her job and hope for the best.

Jayson knows the truth about Jackson King. But will he be able to explain it all to Lindsay or will he continue to omit the truth? But after they both give into the attraction between each other, things seems to be better between the two of them or is it? Once morning comes, its a different story. Jayson is back to his old rude way; Lindsay has an author to find.

When things turn worse for Lindsay, she has no choice but to go back home without her interview. Jayson is not sure how he feels about her leaving. Once she is back home and figuring out how to make things work, thoughts of Jayson continue to plague her. She knows the truth about Jackson King. How could she have not realized? But she misses Jayson.

As letters seems to be Jayson and Lindsay's thing, when she spots some at her best friend's house, she knows what she must do. Can she win back a chance with Jayson with just a sheet of paper with her words? Or will he decide that he likes his life of solitude?

Review by Stacy Eastwood-The Backup (A Montgomery University Novel #1) By: Kathryn Renard

4 stars

I was given this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you love angsty college drama then this is the book for you!  Two young adults, in a college setting, both have issues with their parents...great reading material.  Runner Rarity is that backup...quarterback!  He is waiting and biding his time to let his star shine.  Josie, is new to Montgomery a freshman at the University but a celebrity in her own right...thanks to her Dad.  Runner and Josie meet, the chemistry is there the reader just waits to see if it is as combustible as it seems.  This is a quick read with lots of drama.  If you like new adult, college settings, and young love this is the book for you.

Layers Deep-Layers Trilogy Book 1 by Author Lacey Silks

Book provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

4 stars

This was my second book by author Lacey Silks. I can say now that I am a fan of her writing. I enjoyed the story, the flow of events and the characters. I would have done anything for Tristan Cross too.

This is book 1 in the series and let me say "CLIFFY".....wow!!! I am one clicking book 2, Layers Peeled as I am typing this review. I need more of Allie & Tristan not to mention Kendra & Julian.

Allie Green has been living with revenge running through her veins. She was unable to stop an incident from happening when she was just a girl but now as a grown woman and cop at that, she is just waiting for the time til she can act on this revenge. She will do anything to protect her mom from the monster that haunts her days and nights. But she needs the help of one man, Tristan Cross, to complete this.

Tristan Cross has it all. The looks, money, cars and a loving family along with the family business. He could not ask for anything else except to help a friend out. He will do just about anything to find her. But that will require the help of one sexy female cop. Tristan has his eyes on Allie Green. She is just the woman for the job or so he hopes.

As Tristan offers a job to Allie, she knows this is her chance to get revenge but the attraction between the two of them maybe too much for a working relationship. How will they be able to get the jobs done when they want to tear each others clothes off? Tristan needs to Allie to find Kendra. She is his last hope or Kendra could be lost forever.

Before accepting the job, Tristan and Allie give into their desire for each other. One night of passion maybe be enough for them. The way they react to each other is more than just physical. But can they learn to put that aside to get the job done? Or will love get in the way?

This was my first book by author Amanda Gray. The cover first drew me in then when I read the description of the book; I was intrigued. A girl who was able to see the past. A magical music box. A boy from the past that would do anything for the girl he loved.

Jenny Kramer knows she is different. She learned at a young age that she was able to see a person's past with just a touch. So she has learned to hide this gift or curse. Then with the loss of her mother at at young age, Jenny knows all to well what being alone feels like. Although her father has tried to be there for her, she still needs her mom.

Ben Daulton is the new boy in town. He is also a loner. When Jenny's father goes to Ben's house to see about doing renovations, Jenny is intrigued by the house. It is old but beautiful. As she explores the house and gets measurements for her father, she runs into Ben. He is not at all happy to see her in his room. But they will soon realize that they have something in common.

As Jenny and Ben try to understand what the past means and the music box, they will thrown into the unknown; will they able to understand? And what about the dark hair boy from Jenny's past that seems to have appeared in the present? Nikolia? What does he have to do with them?

When the three of them realize that they are all connected; will there be time to sort out the past before the present ends it all?

This sounds liked it would a great book but once I started, I was unable to connect with the characters. It just did not work for me and I enjoy all kinds of books.

We meet a young dad Max, who is now out on his own with his 2 year old daughter, Chloe. He is trying to make it all work. He is in an undergrad program, working and raising his daughter alone. But he needs help. After taking an ad out looking for someone, he thinks he may have found the perfect person to help him with Chloe.

Savannah answers an ad for a nanny and falls in love with the little girl she is to be watching. She has her own issues but is a great provider and exactly what Max and Chloe need to make a life for themselves. As the attraction between Savannah and Max heats up, will they cross the line of boss and employee?

Their relationship never developed for me. I did not like Max or Savannah. The only spotlight in the whole story was cute Chloe. I guess the story just was not for me.
