Review of If You Dare by Author AR Torre

5 stars

First let me start by saying that you must start this series from Book 1-The Girl in 6e to truly understand the depth of Deanna Madden.  She is a character that will truly get under your skin yet will have you wanting to be her friend.  She has this quirky ability to make you fall in love with her even when she wants to do awful things.

Deanna is trying to be as normal as possible so that she can have a relationship with Jeremy.  You see he is the only guy that has been able to break thru her tough exterior and enter her apartment unharmed.  Jeremy loves Deanna.  But is love enough for Deanna to change the life that she has know for the several years?

When things start to turn dark for Deanna and she does not remember things, everyone is in trouble.  And why is Jeremy not delivering her packages?  What the hell are the police doing in her apartment?

This book was a roller coaster of twist and turns.  My emotions were all over the place; wondering if Deanna did the unthinkable but how could she?  My heart is starting to pound again just thinking about the last couple of chapters of the book.  My mind and heart are still reeling from what was revealed and unspoken.

Author Alessandra Torre/AR Torre is truly a mastermind of mind games.  She is simple brilliant!!!

I honestly suggest that you start from the very beginning of this series so that you completely understand who the Girl in 6e really is……

Review of Author Kristen Proby-Saving Grace

4 stars

This was a cute short novella about Grace Douglas and Jacob Berkley.  I enjoyed their characters and the banner that they had with each other throughout the book.  The chemistry was hot.  The description of Cunningham Falls, Montana has me wanting to book my own ski trip.

Grace Douglas is anything but graceful.  She has the ability to trip over her own feet.  But when her best friends plan a weekend for her to learn to ski and maybe have a hot night with a ski instructor, she is reluctant to go, as you can imagine, she knows she might end up breaking her leg.  After much convincing, Grace heads up the mountain to her weekend retreat.

Jacob Berkley is checking out his resort.  He has it all.  Rich, handsome, women are plentiful but when he is mistaken for the ski instructor, he jumps at the chances to be a normal guy.  But teaching this beauty to ski might be trickier than Jacob thought.

As Jacob shows Grace the ropes on the slope, there is something between them.  There is no denying it.  When they give in to their desires, this is exactly what Grace needed.  Jacob too.  But when the sun comes up and the weekend is over, will they be able to let the weekend be just a fling?  Or will the desire and chemistry between the two of them cause them to want more?

Review for Author Anne Elizabeth-A SEAL Forever

4.5 stars

This book had it all.  Romance, drama, laughs, tears and a heart felt story that will touch your soul.  I enjoyed it thoroughly and have so much respect for all the military men and women and the families that support them.  Without them we would not have the freedom that we do.

Maura Maxwell has had a crush on her sexy Navy Seal neighbor, Declan Smith, for awhile now.  But she avoids him at all cost.  He is just such a big man and seems to have a revolving door of hot women.  But when they finally crash into each other, their lives will forever be changed.

Declan Smith eats, breathes and lives the Navy Seal life.  It is all he knows.  So when he starts a relationship with his pretty neighbor, his life will take a new meaning.  Does he have room for Maura in his life?

While things between the two of them is amazing and continue to get better each time they are together, learning more about each other, Declan is reluctant to go on this last mission.  But it is his duty.  He will be back to pickup with Maura after the mission is completed.

But this mission will change Declan.  Will Maura be able to help Declan continue to be the man he was or will Declan be half the man he was?  The love that Maura shows to Declan proves that it takes a hell of a woman to commit to the military life.

This story will touch your heart and yes will have you in tears during parts of it.  But it goes to show the true sacrifice that the military of our country takes each and everyday.  I enjoyed the Author’s writing style and plan to read more from her.  Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story with us readers.

Review for Author Chantal Fernando Tracker's End

4 stars

I have been vested in this series since book 1 Dragon’s Lair.  As we get to see the end to Tracker, it was just what I was looking for and needed to read.

Tracker is just that a tracker.  He has been with the Wind Dragons since the beginning and knows what he wants but she is not to be touched.  He would cause more harm to her if he gave into the desires that he feels for Lana.  Of course Lana feels the same but knows that a man like Tracker couldn’t want a girl like her.

As Lana becomes closer to the entire Wind Dragons family via her best friend, Ana, the ability to stay away from Tracker is getting harder and harder by the day.  It does help that Tracker is taken.  He has a steady lady at the MC but when he looks at her, Lana can feel the connection between the two of them.

Tracker has had enough.  He has wasted enough time away from the one person he desires the most so waiting and convincing Lana that she is his takes a some time.  But all good things are worth the wait.

When Lana finally gives in to Tracker, Lana’s world is fixing to become a completely different thing.  Tracker will show her exactly what it means to be loved.  But there someone from the Lana’s past and present that will continue to cause trouble between them.

But when a new MC comes rolling into town, trouble is brewing.  Blood will be shed.  There is a rat upon them.  When trust becomes an issue for Tracker and Lana, will they come out together or not?

I have enjoyed this entire series and look forward to more from this amazing author!!!

Review for The Truth About Him by Author Molly O'Keefe

4.5 stars

Book 2 continues where Book 1, Everything I Left Unsaid, left off.  If you have not read it, you really need to start from the beginning of that first phone call.

I thoroughly enjoyed the way Author Molly O’Keefe was able to make me fall more in love with Annie and Dylan.  The background stories on them come to light to allow you to understand more of what was running through their minds.

As Annie and Dylan learn to navigate around their relationship, they share more of their past and secrets with each other.  But when Dylan’s past comes to meet his present, he knows he will do whatever he has to protect Annie.

Annie has the ability to bring out the best in everyone.  Her down home ways and yearning to learn all there is on her own, makes her so likeable.  But Annie has a past too that is not ready to let go.

When the past and present collide, there will be blood, there will be tears and there will be heartache.  Will Dylan and Annie be able to survive their past together?  Or will it be too much for either of them to hold on too.

This will have you on the seat of your chair wondering until the last page is read.  I seriously hope Author Molly O’Keefe will continue with a book about a few of the other characters that we meet in this series.

Review of Everything I Left Unsaid by Author Molly O'Keefe

4 Stars

Let me start off by saying that this story was intriguing from the first phone call to the last.  The twist and turns will keep you guessing as to what will happen next.  Plus the characters are able to bring this story to life.

Annie has secrets.  Annie has a past that she did everything she could to get away from.  So living in this little rv park is the best place to be unseen.  Only when she answers the ringing of a cell phone does she not realize that her life is about to change.  Annie is going to learn so much more about life than she thought was possible.  Plus she will bring new life to the people living in the rv park.

Dylan is king of his mountain and needs no one.  Until the voice on the other end of the phone makes him wondering about things.  How his life would be if he could love.  Dylan has no idea what true love is.  He knows that he is destined to be alone on his mountain with his garage and cars.  His life growing up has been anything but easy.

Annie is innocence and wanting to learn so much about life and you can’t help but love her.  While Dylan has scars of his own to make him desirable in away that will make you want to love him.

As these two chat during short phones calls, the desires to learn more about each others secrets and desires will become too much.  Will they fall finally meet face to face?  Or will their secrets keep them apart?  I look forward to reading the conclusion in the next book.

First off......thank you thank you......let's read, fall in love, laugh, cry and find new authors....

First off let me say thank you for visiting my book review blog page.  I hope to be able to help you find some fun and smiles in the books that I read.  Although I have no doubt there will be a few tears and heart breaks from some.  I am kinda a book whore meaning that I will read just about anything.  From romance to paranormal to erotic to western (love me some cowboys) to historical to comedy to YA to dark.  My favorite genre is probably a tie between paranormal and historical fiction.  I also have a soft spot for Indie authors.  Their passion for the love of writing and taking that chance to follow their dreams of becoming a writer is true inspiration.  There are so many amazing authors in the Indie world to read and continue to support by sharing their books with friends, family and even strangers.

A few of my favorite paranormal authors......
JR Ward-Black Dagger Brotherhood.  this is a MUST read but just to let you know Z is mine.  You can have your pick of any of the other Brothers but Zsadsit is mine and I refuse to share him but honestly this series will have you wishing you had your own vampire to protect you from the evil that lurks in the shadows in the world.

Stephanie Meyer-The Twilight Saga and yes I am a Twihard.  I consumed that entire series in a matter of days.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  Thanksgiving weekend.  After everyone left the house full of turkey and stuffing, I dove into Twilight and did not resurface until I read the last page of Breaking Dawn.  I could not get enough of these sparkly vamps and lets not forget the wolves.  But I am Team Edward all the way.  I have read and re-read this series several times.  I continue to buy copies and donate to my children's middle school for the reading teacher to allow the kids to checkout them out and realize their love for books and reading.

Another paranormal author is Karen Marie Moning-The Fever Series.  This series is another that I consumed.  It has a little bit of magic and faes to keep you on your toes.  And of course Jericho Barron, who to this day still has a piece of my heart.
Another would be Charlaine Harris-Sookie Stackhouse Series.  As many of you know this series was turned into a tv series TrueBlood on HBO.  I watched every season and still loved the books better.  As the saying goes: "The book was better."  You will get your share of vampires, werewolves, fairies and other mystical creatures in this series.  I had the pleasure of getting to meet Ms. Harris in Dallas this past May at RT.  It was something that I can mark off my bucket list.  Plus I got my favorite book in the series signed.

Another series that had me forgetting about my everyday life was the Eternal Guardians Series-Elisabeth Naughton.  In this series, a group of Guardians are here to help save mankind from the war that is raging in the underworld.  There is lots of action and twist through out the series.  Plus the Guardians are hotties.

Now to my historical fiction authors.......
What can I say but I love love the old historical books especially anything to do with King Henry VIII or the Tudor era.  I have read and continue to read anything that Philippa Gregory writes.  She has away of bringing to life a world from the past.  You will find yourself intrigued with life at Court.   The dirty secrets that came with being a part of Court or even a maiden during that time.

Several others that write in this genre that I love are Diane Haeger, Alison Weir, Kate Emerson and Carolly Erickson.  These ladies all are talented writers.  I always look forward their new releases.  I have an entire book shelve dedicated to just this genre.

Let's get to reading and leave the laundry to another day.  Life is too short not to read and escape reality for a few minutes.
