Cupcakes & Ink-Helena Hunting

4.5 cupcakes

This was my first Helena Hunting book and it will not be my last.  I enjoyed her way of writing and this prequel novella was perfect start to the Clipped Wings series.  This prequel novella had it all that I need to get vested in a book series.

As we get to see Tenley and Hayden POV, it was perfect buildup for what is to come for both of them.  And let me tell you the attraction that was coming off from just these few pages in the prequel, there is going to be some major attraction coming.

I have already started Clipped Wings, Book 1, I have to see what happens between Tenley and Hayden and the rest of the crew.

Rebecca's Lost Journals-Inside Out Series-Lisa Renee Jones

5 stars

I truly enjoyed getting to read Rebecca’s journal and getting insight on what she was feeling.  It also gave me the chance to see how her journal was able to draw Sara into her world of art and seduction.  I am been so intrigued with Rebecca, she was such a big part of this entire series that this was just perfect to put her into the limelight of the series.
Even though this is Rebecca’s journal, you get to see the love she had for her Master and that he also had for her.  We are never given a name as to who he is but I promise your mind will be running through all the men in this series wondering if it is him.

This entire series has been amazing and I love Lisa Renee Jones’ way of writing.  Completely fan girl her.  I look forward to more from her.

Review by Stacy Eastwood....The All-Star Antes Up by Author Nancy Herkness

4 Stars

I really enjoyed this book and its emphasis on perfect quarterbacks all over the NFL :-).  Luke Archer gives off the image of a God; he is in essence for many football fans their god during the season.  He has won an extraordinary number of bowls and awards, but he wants more.  One night three men come together and place a drunken bet on finding love.  Archer feels he has plenty of time after his season is over to pursue winning the bet; he is after all a competitor.  The funny thing about love is it never seems to wait for the perfect time to come into your life.  Miranda Tate is a small town farm girl trying to make a life in the big city as a concierge.  What starts out as a brief encounter at work quickly escalates into a romance that neither saw coming.  The ups and downs of this story seem to have a Cinderella like feel.  I love HEA's in general and this sports romance left me with warm fuzzies.  I recommend this novel to anyone who likes sports themed stories, HEA, contemporary romance and sizzling hot characters.

Wrong Number, Right Guy-Ella Casey

4 stars
What happens when you receive a texted from the wrong person but don’t realize til you are too far vested into the situation and person?  This is just that story.  What happens as a mistake might just turn into the best wrong number for May Wexler.
May Wexler is a photographer who will do whatever it takes to make ends meet, so that means weddings and family portraits.  She lives alone with her fabulous little dog, Felix.  She has always been there for her sister, who is single with three kids.  So after texting with her sister, she receives a text asking her to come to a local biker bar.  May knows that her sister has completely lost her mind, why would she be in a biker bar with her 3 kids.  But May is out the door to help her sister.
Once there, May finds herself in a bar brawl with bullets flying.  She has no chose but to allow this huge grizzly of a man and his beard, Ozzie, to help her.  Once they are safely hidden away, he tells her she will need to lay low a few days til they can figure out if she is safe.
Ozzie is the owner of a Security firm that works closely with the local and federal law enforcement.  After having his cover blow when May comes busting into the bar, he knows that he must now keep her safe and continue to investigate.  But he doesn’t want to want her, he will fight with himself to keep her safe not only from the bad guys but from himself.
But the attraction between May and Ozzie is so thick that you can cut it with a knife whenever they are together.  Once they give into the desires that they have for each other, May is more than accepted into the fold at as one of the Bourbon Street Boys.
They will have to work together to find the bad guys and keep May safe.  But in the end, not only do they put the bad guys away but May will find her happy with the right guy from a wrong number.
I enjoyed the book and look forward to more in this series.

Review by Stacy Eastwood-Aldin's Wish by Author F.G. Adams

4 Stars
I was given this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.  Aldin’s Wish, is the first in a new series of paranormal romance books.  Aldin was barely of age when he was changed to a Vampire and has spent several centuries working for his master and making money, loving women and protecting the human race and his descendants.  Wren, has worked hard and became a doctor even though she suffered the loss of her father and the debilitating effects that loss had on her mother.  When Aldin and Wren cross paths their lives are both changed forever.  This is a great beginning to a series that can build and develop with the characters introduced in this first novel.  I recommend this book for anyone who loves paranormal, hot chemistry between main characters and a few twist and turns in a book.

A Lowcountry Wedding by Author Mary Alice Monroe

5 stars

I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway from the publisher and Mary Alice Monroe.  I was thrilled to read this book.  I have loved the entire Lowcountry Summer series.  It is always a joy to be able to read a book about and around the area that you live in.

Although this book will bring the sisters full circle, I feel as though you can read this one without having to have read the others.  You will be able to follow along with the characters and enjoy the story.

As the Muir sisters' come back home to the Lowcountry and Charleston to finalize their wedding plans and get ready to begin new lives, a secret from the past may cause them all to rethink what they thought they knew.  Is love enough to get them to the alter?

Each of the sisters will have to work through different things happening in their lives along with being there for each other and for their grandmothers.  Who are both a hoot and just make the story that much better.  But as we all know blood is thicker than water.

I did shed a tear as in the book for a special character that will forever hold a spot in our hearts for the love that she showed in a previous book and can only wish her many new adventures.  She will truly be missed on the docks and in the waters of the Lowcountry.

This book is a perfect summer read for anybody.  It has lots of laughs, smiles and romance to have you wanting your own Lowcountry wedding.
