I have been a major fan of J. Kenner since I meet her a few years ago in Savannah. But her way of writing and telling a story is another reason, she is one of my go to authors.
This in book 2 in the S.I.N series and I would suggest reading book 1 so that you can understand some of the underlying issues going on.
More of the true Dallas Sykes is revealed. We get to see how he is behind closed doors and not the playboy he is seen as in the spotlight. As his relationship with Jane comes more into play, we learn how their relationship came about. How something so tragic years ago has brought them together. But that truth be told, they have always loved each other.
Jane is trying to understand more about the dark side that seems to come over Dallas. She is willing to do anything to help him get over the pain of the past; even it means allowing him to use her body. But Jane seems to crave the darkside of Dallas too.
As the issue of who the kidnappers were; the truth is going to destroy them both. How will Jane deal with the truth? Knowing that someone she loved and believed in is responsible? How will Dallas be able to tell Jane the truth? Will she understand? Can their love withstand more secrets and lies of omission?
The last page of book 2 will have you reeling and wanting book 3 like yesterday.
