Three Simple Words (Kingston Ale House #3)

Author AJ Pines
4 stars

Let me start by saying that this is book 3 in the Kingston Ale House series but you can totally read it and not feel as though you are lost.  It was my first book by Author AJ Pines.  I loved the characters in the book.  I enjoyed AJ Pines way of writing.  It was an easy and sweet read for me.  I look forward to reading more from her.

Wes has come home to try to get out of his writer’s block.  See he is an author.  His first book is selling like hot cakes.  But with his deadline for book 2 looming over his head, he has to get out of the city and see if he can figure out something or he is going to be a one hit wonder.  Wes not sure if coming home is the best thing; there are too many memories and realities that he will have to face.  But when he runs into Annie, maybe coming back wasn’t such a bad thing.

Anna is a book blogger and the owner of a local bookstore.  Books have been her things.  So owning her own bookstore was perfect.  Well if she was selling books and not worrying about making bank to pay her best friend for doing the books for her.  Anna has always believe in HEA in her books and in life.  I mean her parents have been married and happy for years.  So why can’t she find her prince charming and live happily ever after?

Anna and Wes have this chemistry between them but Anna seems to remember her little brother’s best friend, sitting on the couching playing video games back when he was a teen.  But now he is 25 and an author who does not do HEA.  She wants to show him that everyone should want for their own happy even in books.

As Anna and Wes agree to a casual fling, Wes seems to have found his muse and his words are flowing.  Anna maybe just what he needs to get book 2 written.  But will the fiery red headed green eyed beauty give Wes more than he bargained for?

Bad Reputation (Bad Boys of Sports #1)

Author Nicole Edwards

4 stars

What can I say but if you love sports romances then this is the read for you.  I have been a huge fan of Author Nicole Edwards.  She did not disappoint in this book.  I enjoyed the banner between the characters.  And wish that I was friends with these characters.  I look forward to reading more in this new series.

Chase and Cassie have been bffs since they meet in college when Chase needed a tutor.  Cassie set him straight then and has been for years.  They are whatever bff wants in each other.  Support, love and fun times.  But their bodies and minds seem to want more.  They have been fighting a good fight to keep those desires in check.

When Cassie has to go to Vegas for a week, of course she would invite Chase to go with her. Why not?  He has just finished up his hockey season and could use the break.  Plus Cassie needs her bff there.  And why not, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?!

Can Cassie and Chase cross that friends lines and still be bff?  Or will they ruin the friendship they have?  Maybe they could become so much more?

Breaching the Contract by Author Chantal Fernando

4 Stars

I have been a fan of Author Chantal Fernando from her Wing Dragons MC Series.  Her way of writing flows and will draw you into the story.

Breaching the Contract is book 1 in her Conflict of Interest series.  If you enjoy office romances then this is the book for you.  The characters will have you smiling and laughing as they learn the dynamics of working together.  It was short and sweet read for me.  I look forward to reading the next in this series.

Katerina Dawson has just passed the bar and starting as a junior associate at one of the most sought after law firms in city.  She has big dreams of doing what she loves, fighting for people: helping defend them.  But her job is not exactly what she signed up for.  As she learns to handle herself when she is around her boss, Tristan Channing.

Tristan Channing has no desire to have to baby sit the new associate Katerina Dawson.  But when his partner takes a leave of absence, he has to do what is needed for the firm.  Tristan knows that Katerina is capable for being an outstanding attorney but she stirs feeling in him that he has not felt in a while.  Better to have her doing errands away from the office then having temptation right there.

As things heat up between Katerina and Tristan, they will have to learn to keep their desires in check while at the office.  But can they do this?  Or will the looks and simple touches be too much?

Undeniable by Author Jessika Klide reviewed by Stacy Eastwood

4 stars
I would like to start out stating that I almost gave this book a three, not for content but because I am not a big fan of cliffhanger books.  However, if you go into this knowing it is a serial novel, you will be well pleased.  Klide does a wonderful job of developing the characters personalities and gives glimpses of the past so you can understand why they act the way they do.  At the start, I couldn't understand why the author put some of the scenarios into the book; but as I read further I realized they are necessary for character development.  The scenes are descriptive enough to allow the reader to visualize the places the characters visit.  Lastly, this book is hot!  The main character Aurie Moore is a true Alpha male whose sexuality leaps off the pages and smacks you in your face.  The gentlemen's club scenes at Been Jammin are very well written and you can feel the sexual tension radiating off the pages.  Overall, this is a great start to a promising serial series.

Calendar Girl Volume 1 by Author Audrey Carlan

4 stars

After devouring the Lotus House Series by Author Audrey Carlan, I had to dive right into the Calendar Girl series. Oh my word, funny, sassy, sexy and made me smile. I have found a new author that I love to read!!!

Mia is having no choice but to keep her family safe and pay off a major debt that her father ran up with the local bad bookie.....Mia goes to work for her aunt as an Escort. This is a 100 grand a month paying job. She needs the money. Of course, having to be a companion for these absolutely sexy men is not a hardship. And if Mia wants to have sex with them, she can. There is no reason she should not enjoy herself right?

Each month Mia goes to stay with another guy. Each has a different story and required different things from Mia. But she is just the girl for any job that is thrown at her.

The men that she has meet in the first 3 months all were able to show how to love and be loved. I think the Frenchie may have been my favorite man of the month so far.

But already started the next 3 months. So we will see.

This book was provided via NetGalley for an honest review.

4.5 stars

Let me start by saying that I loved this book. I liked the fact that it has so much suspense mixed with a romance. The characters were all likable. I loved the story was set in a little town by a lake. The romance story was interesting and played out the way I wanted. I can not wait to read more from this author!!!

Erin Holtz seems to have it all but appears can be deceiving. She is pretty. She is a cheerleader. But her home life has changed. Her mom is depressed and rarely leaves her bedroom. Then there is her dad; high school teacher; who is the prime suspect in the string of murders in town. And they seem to be escalating lately. All Erin wants to do is get a scholarship to leave town and attend college. But then she would have to leave behind her little brother, whom she has been taking care of since their mom is not herself and their dad has changed.

Dimitri Kuklev had it all. Until one night of drinking and partying takes it all away. Or so he thinks. He still have his life to live. Plus his family has never left his side. Add in that his little sister's best friend, Erin, seems to be showing more interest in him. But should he allow himself to give into what he truly wants? Will it ruin the friendship that he has with Erin?

When more girls go missing and bodies start turning it, things start to get weird. Dimitri is being looked at a suspect now that a couple of girls that are dead had dated him. Then when there are messages from one of the victims and Dimitri, things starts to turn for the worse. Now not only is Dimitri, the guy that Erin has been secretly in love with for years and her father are both suspects.

Can the real killer be found before more girls disappear? Will Dimitri and Erin be able to find true love in this dangers game? Or could Erin be the next victim???

Same Page-Book 1 in Bookish Friends to Lovers by Author GL Tomas

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley for an honest review.

1 star

After seeing the cover and reading the premise, I knew I was going to enjoy this short read. I was wrong. I did not like the characters. I did not like the story. It was boring at times and seems to be drawn out. And the issues in the book were just a little much to see into. I mean who has a long distance relationship where they only see each other a couple of times a year? I know people in the military do this but thats not something that I want to read about.

Then there is the issue of Timothy sort of cheating on said long distance girlfriend. Was it really cheating or not? I know that cheating can be a taboo issue for some readers but not with me. If the story is written well and you see all sides of the story then go with it.

I hated to not like this book but just was not my cup of tea. I know there are lots of reviewing enjoying it. I guess to each their own. I would try to read another book by the author.
