Dirty Letters by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

This book was read via Kindle Unlimited

4.5 stars

What can I say but this book had me up late and not wanting to do much of anything except read those Dirty Letters.

It all began as pen pals between 2 young kids, Luca and Griffin.  They were best friends even without having meet each other.  They lived on different sides of the world.  So when the letters stopped coming, trust is broken along with friendship and hearts.

But when a letter arrives for Luca years later, surprised and excited to see that handwriting after so long.  Although the words inside are not what she was expecting.  So Luca does what anyone would do, writes back to try to explain and so the pen pal letters begin again but in a much more adult way.  The dirty letters begin to be the highlight of Luca and Griffin's days.  They reconnect like no time as past.  Even without seeing each other or speaking, the connect is still there.

So much has changed over the years although Griffin and Luca leave out certain aspects of their lives, soon the future will meet the past.  What happens will have you on a road trip you never saw coming.

Luca and Griffin's characters were so likeable I think from reading the letters, it was as if you knew their deepest darkest secrets.  This book had me laughing, cheering for love and crying for all the that was lost.

4.5 stars

This book is part of the Kindle Worlds: Happily Ever Alpha.  It is just one of the many books in that group.  And they are all on KU-kindle unlimited.  So you can read them all.

Who doesn't love an alpha man but what about a hot chick that gives him a run for his money.  We meet Valerie Dawson.  She is head strong and determined to show her father that she has what it takes to make it in the business world.  Even if he thinks she can not handle his business the way a man would.  Valerie loves her job and crunching numbers comes nature to her. So when she lands a job to help with an audit at the Broken Eagle's Motorcycle Shop, what does she have to worry about?  It is just a bunch of old men that work on bikes right?  Well Valerie could not be more wrong when she comes face to face with Rowan Pryor.

Rowan Pryor served his time with the Navy SEALS and now wants to enjoy his life with his fellow SEALS.  He knows how to handle the books and bikes.  But what he wasn't ready was Valerie Dawson; walking into the bike shop like a dream come true.....but how can that be.  Rowan does not believe in love at first sight or does he now?

As things heat up between Valerie and Rowan as they will be working together on sorting out the books at the shop.  They are both trying to deny this instant pull they have towards each other.  Will they continue to fight it or will the attraction win causing them to crash into each other.  Or will other forces within their world cause them to drift apart?

I have been a huge fan of the BOOM since reading my first Aurora Rose Reynolds book in the Until Series.  And let me say that Jessica Marin does not disappoint in her own Until book.  I can not wait to dive into the other books in this group of authors looking to join the BOOM club.  Happy reading!!!

Seattle Sharks Series by Author Samantha Whiskey

Book 1

Book 2

Book 3

Book 4

Book 5

Book 6

Book 7

All books read with KU

Let me start by saying that I did not realize what a big hockey fan I am.  Growing up in the South, where it is nothing but sun and sand, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this series.  Seattle Sharks Series was more than just a group of hockey players.  They each had story to tell and learn to love in his own way.  I think I read all 7 books within about 5 days.  They are pretty easy reads.  And also addictive.  I had to find out what was going to happen next to the guys.  And the girls that were in the book.

It starts out as a trio of starters who each has his own issues with women and love.  But as they each get hit with the love bug, it seems that matters of the heart will take over the Shark men.  As the books develop more we get more stories from secondary characters who all need to be heard too.  And the women in the books were a hoot.  They had their own rules and the Shark men did not stand a chance.

The Shark men also showed you what it is like to be a family, even if you are not blood related.  And how families stick together no matter what.

If I had to choose a favorite book, it would be Bruiser, Book 7, PORTER, Hudson Porter that is.  He was this guy that just had a broody attitude but with good reason.  He knew what life was life without all the lights and glam of being a NHL player.  But when a petite redhead gives him a run for his money, he will do anything just about to show her that he is one of the good guys.

There are currently 7 books in this series but we are left after Book 7 with a sneak peek at the next book, which looks to be another winning shot for Author Samantha Whiskey.

Hate Notes by Authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

4 Notes

This story had it all for me.  It was a sweet romance bout believing in love even when love has kicked you in the face.  We all need that something to believe in but when it is a truly heartfelt hand written note, you can not believe in love.

Charlotte is down on her luck.  Her wedding was not to be.  Then she has been having no luck with finding a job.  But sometimes you have to have to bad to finally reach the good.  When Charlotte sees this wedding dress, it calls to her.  But isn't it bad luck to buy someone else's wedding dress?  But when faith steps in and you find a note sewn into this dress, you know it is fate.  This is exactly what Charlotte needs to believe again.

Reed Eastwood is dreamy.  Charlotte can not believe that he is the man that wrote the blue note.  And what happened to his bride?  After a chance encounter with Reed, Charlotte knows that she will never be the same, he is nothing like what she has dreamed him to be in her head.

Fate has a way of stepping in when things need to be done.  When Charlotte is thrown into Reed's world, will she be able to stand the arrogant ass he showed himself to be?  Or will Reed be able to let his guard down and show her who he truly is?

Verity by Author Colleen Hoover

4.5 stars

I finished this book a few days again and it is still with me.  I am questioning what exactly did I read.....can the ending be the truth.....or was it all really a lie to cover up the truth?  This book was not your typical Colleen Hoover, it is not all hearts, flowers and tears, well I did cry so guess it did have the tears.  But WOW!!! This story was a page turner from the very beginning.  I was unable to put it down until the last page was turned.  I had to knew what was happening.  Then when the truth was revealed, I again was questioning myself.....what is the truth?  Yet there was love so much love and so much heartache.  I think this maybe my favorite book from her so far.

The Cowboy (The King Family #4) by Author Molly O'Keefe

4 star

This book was read with KU-kindle unlimited free.

This is book 4 in the King Family series.  It was a great end to the series and honestly who does not love a cowboy?  I know I do!!  Each book is a standalone but there is enough back story to know the characters.

Bea King was that one character that I was not sure about from the beginning of the series.  But she was just more complicated than her sister.  Bea is just that, she is one that does nice things for people but does not want any thanks.  She is living in a tiny apartment above her job with her two dogs.  Bea has more money than she could ever use yet, she would rather work as a bartender than spend the King money.  She is not looking for love but when it catches part of her, she feels this pull that she can not deny.

Cody is down on his luck.  He is trying to live day by day yet when he catches a glimpse of Bea one morning through the trees, she is everything that he wants and needs.  And not knowing who she is is even better.  She can be anything he wants.  Cody feels like he is not what any woman would want.  But there is something about this woman that makes
Cody want more.

Bea and Cody are in this sort of strange relationship.  They have their mornings with each other but can you fall in love with someone without truly seeing them?

This was a great ending to the King Family series.  I was wanting more pages to turn when I reach the end.  But found a couple new authors to stalk and read now along with an old favorite Molly O'Keefe.

The Bastard (The King Family #3) by Author Julie Kriss

4.5 stars

This book was read with KU-kindle unlimited free.

This is book 3 in the King Family series.  Each book is a stand alone.

This was my favorite one in the series.  I was so intrigued by the lone King brother, Dylan.  He is mentioned throughout the first two books and we get bits and pieces of him but to finally get his story was perfect.

Dylan King never wanted anything to do with his father.  But a couple summers spent on the King estate as teen spending it with his little sisters, still formed a bond between them.  Even the death of their father does not bring the estranged big brother back to town but when one of his sisters in true danger, that protective SEAL instinct kicks in.  Dylan will destroy anything in his path to help his sister.

Madison White is the "anything" that stands in Dylan's way to his sister.  But Sabrina is safe.  Madison will let him know then use her skills at dealing with dominate men to show Dylan what he should do for his family.  But does she have other motivates for what she suggests?  Or is the instant attraction and need to submit to Dylan to much to deny?

This was a power struggle story but in the end the heart wants what the heart wants no matter the cost.  Giving everything up maybe just what Madison and Dylan needed.
